Betty Jean Kruckenberg, 83, of Hampton, Iowa, passed away Wednesday, August 20, at the Rehabilitation Center of Hampton in Hampton, Iowa. She was born February 6, 1931, in Etna, California to Charles Oliver and Lois Grace (Bettes) Palmer. Betty graduated from Atascadero High School in Atascadero, California. She was united in marriage to Willis Kruckenberg on September 9, 2000, in Hampton, Iowa. Betty was a member of the Hampton United Methodist Church in Hampton. She enjoyed dancing, camping, outdoor activities, and loved animals and being around children. Betty is survived by her husband Willis Kruckenberg of Hampton, daughter Shirley Hamilton of Mason City, grandson Jason Weese of Mason City, grandson Shane Weese of California, granddaughter Heidi Weese of Sioux City, great granddaughters Ashley and Emily Weese of Mason City, sister Arlene Silveria of California, step son Michael Kruckenberg of Charles City, step son Brian Kruckenberg of Clear Lake, step daughter Kathy Risse of Fairbank, step daughter Deb Silvers of Hansell, step daughter Dena Paulus of Hampton, nine step grandchildren and thirteen step great grandchildren. Betty was preceded in death by her parents and one step grandchild.
