Betty Lorraine Kakacek

February 7, 1925 - July 3, 2015

Betty Lorraine Kakacek, 90 of Hampton, passed away Friday July 3, 2015, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City, Iowa. She was born February 7, 1925, in Ackley, Iowa to Jake and Amelia (Rixman) Lindaman. Betty graduated from Ackley High School in Ackley, Iowa. She was united in marriage to Stanley Kakacek on December 28, 1946, in Wellsburg, Iowa. Betty worked for many years at the First National Bank in Hampton, Iowa. She was a member of the First Congregational United Church of Christ in Hampton where she was an active member. Betty had a strong work ethic & determination to see things through. Even in the midst of her later health struggles, she wasn't one to sit idly by. She relied on her faith & her many lifelong friends - who she will dearly miss. Betty enjoyed gardening, springtime, and her dog Holly. She loved cooking, cooking for her family, and family get-togethers. Betty is survived by her son Steven (Kathy) Kakacek of Grandview, Missouri, son David (Kathy) Kakacek of Buffalo Center, son Philip (Tawnia) Kakacek of Solon, grandchildren Janet (Mike) Gavin, Beth (Chris) Munce, Troy (Ginger) Kakacek, Kevin (Sarah) Kakacek, Mindy (Mike) Hardin, Jason (Auri) Kakacek, John Kakacek and Andria Kakacek, fourteen great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother Wallace Lindaman and sister Irene Bessman. Burial will take place at the Hampton Cemetery in Hampton, Iowa.
