Brenda G. Harlan

Brenda G. Harlan, 58, of Hansell, Iowa, passed away Tuesday, May 24, 2016, at Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit in Mason City, Iowa. She was born on July 9, 1957, in Hampton, Iowa, to Jamie and Marylin (Catherall) Berringer. Brenda graduated from Hampton High School in 1975. She was united in marriage to Brian Harlan on July 19, 1975 at the West Fork. Brenda was a homemaker and was a manager at AmericInn for 17 years. She was a member of the Hansell/West Fork United Methodist Church. Brenda enjoyed gardening, feeding birds, fishing, going to the cabin, and her trips to Hawaii. She loved spending time with her kids and grandkids, her dogs, and spending time up north. Brenda is survived by her husband Brian Harlan of Hansell, daughter Whitney (Travis) McCormick of Latimer, son Brett (Brooke) Harlan of Hansell, son Andrew (Marissa) Harlan of Geneva, son Jess (Nichole) Harlan of Hansell, granddaughters Autumn Harlan, Aspen Harlan, Makenna Harlan, and Baby McCormick, grandson Tucker McCormick, five sister-in-laws, two brother-in-laws, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents Jamie Berringer and Marylin Hanson, sister Lori Stonewall, brother Kurt Berringer, and mother-in-law and father-in-law Marvin and Wanda Harlan.
