Christine Vasquez

Christine Vasquez, 87, of Hampton, Iowa, passed away Sunday, July 21, 2013, at the Franklin Country View Nursing Facility in Hampton, Iowa. She was born on July 7, 1926, in Kenefic, Oklahoma, to Thomas and Maria (De La Cruz) Olivarez. Christine was a homemaker. She was united in marriage to Cruz Vasquez on May 30, 1945, in Hughs, Arkansas. Christine previously attended services at the Lighthouse of Life Church in Hampton and was a devoted member. She loved her family dearly and took care of all of them. Christine enjoyed crocheting doilies, making quilts and gardening, mostly inside and outside plants. She loved the LORD and put all her trust in him. Christine loved attending church and listening to Christian music. She also enjoyed watching Joyce Meyer and Pastor John Hagee in the mornings. Christine is survived by her children Becky (Rod) McTurk of Mashalltown, Eloise Reyes of Waterloo, Ray (Diane) Vasquez of Webster City, Lydia (Larry) Jones of Mason City, Irene (Roger) Grover of Dumont, Virginia (Steve) Phillips of Jesup and Alfred Vasquez of Hampton, fourteen grandchildren, twenty-four great-grandchildren, eight great great-grandchildren, brother Daniel (Karen) Olivarez and sister Anita (Paul) Rodriguez. She was preceded in death by her parents Thomas and Maria and husband Cruz. Burial will take place in the Hampton Cemetery.
