Cleva A. Sailer

Cleva A. Sailer, 90, of Hampton, Iowa, passed away on Sunday, March 3, 2013, at the Franklin General Hospital Nursing Facility in Hampton, Iowa. She was born on November 14, 1922, on a farm near Iowa Falls, Iowa, the daughter of Hans and Minnie (Roske) Hansen. Cleva graduated from Iowa Falls High School. She was united in marriage to Carl Sailer on June 20, 1941, at her parents' home in Iowa Falls. Cleva was a homemaker and farmwife, working beside her husband Carl. She was a previous member of St. John's Lutheran Church and a current member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, where she was active with many church committees. Cleva was an excellent cook and enjoyed it very much. She also enjoyed entertaining her family and friends and playing bridge and bingo. Cleva is survived by her daughter Judy Holbrook of Hampton, granddaughter Shannon Holbrook of Chariton, granddaughter Shawna Holbrook of Iowa City, brother Lawrence (Shirley) Hansen of Iowa Falls, brother-in-law Jacob Sailer of Geneva and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents Hans and Minnie, husband Carl, sister Leona and brother Martin. Burial will take place in the Hampton Cemetery.
