Dale Johnson

Dale Johnson, 77, of Hampton, Iowa, passed away July 4, 2010, at his home in Hampton, Iowa. He was born October 13, 1932, in Alexander, Iowa, to J.L. and Annie (Fekkers) Johnson. Dale attended school in Sheffield. He was united in marriage to Marian Richtsmeier on November 16, 1951, in Hampton. Dale served his country in the United States Army from 1952 to 1954, during the Korean War. He worked at Hampton Heating prior to over 25 years with MidAmerican Energy until 1993 when he retired. Dale was a member of Hampton United Methodist Church in Hampton, the American Legion Post 183 and was a lifetime member of the VFW 5227. He enjoyed camping, fishing, playing cards, woodworking, gardening and having coffee with his friends at McDonald's. Dale was a devoted husband and father. He is survived by his wife Marian Johnson of Hampton, son Jeffrey Johnson of Hampton and Shelly Johnson of Huron, South Dakota, son Alan (Sherry) Johnson of Hot Springs, Arkansas, sister Edna Petersen of Latimer, many nieces and nephews, grandchildren Misty, Michael, Meranda, and K.C. Johnson of Huron, South Dakota, Tiffany Puckett of Jefferson, Georgia, Tyler Johnson of Athens, Georgia, three great grandchildren Brianna, Hailey and Ashley Puckett. Dale was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, four sisters and one brother in infancy.
