    Elsie Louise Wiegman

    November 20, 1919 - December 14, 2012

    Elsie Louise (Bass) Wiegman, 93, of Allison, Iowa, passed away Friday, December 14, 2012, at the Rehabilitation Center of Allison in Allison, Iowa. She was born on November 20, 1919, in New Hartford, Iowa, to Lee and Lola (Cortright) Bass. Elsie graduated from New Hartford High School in 1938. She was united in marriage to Christ H. Wiegman on May 19, 1944, at the St. James Lutheran Church Parsonage. Elsie worked at the ASCS office from 1939 to 1950 and then helped on the farm, milking cows, raising chickens and selling eggs. She was member of the St. John's EV Lutheran Church and the Amvets, in which she managed for ten years. Elsie enjoyed her cats, playing cards, reading, crocheting, along with visiting and telling stories. She also loved going to North Butler boys and girls basketball games and UNI women's basketball games. Elsie is survived by her loving adopted family Doyle (Ann) Brocka of Allison, her adopted grandchildren Clint Brocka of Chicago, Luke Brocka of Cedar Falls and Erin Brocka of Cedar Falls, sisters Rosalee McMullen of Cedar Falls and Kay Masters of Cedar Falls, sister-in-law Lucille Bass of New Hartford, along with a host of nieces and nephews. Elsie was preceded in death by her parents Lee and Lola, husband Christ, brothers Harlan, Bud and Billy, sisters Betty Buss and Lavida Davidson, infant sister Linda and brother-in-laws Roger Masters, Raymond McMullen, Alden Davidson and Donald Buss. Burial will take place in the St. John's Lutheran Church Cemetery, rural Greene, Iowa.
