Ione Evelyn Erickson

Ione Evelyn Erickson, 98, of Clear Lake, Iowa, passed away Tuesday, June 19, 2012, at the Good Samaritan Center in Forest City, Iowa. She was born on November 27, 1913, in Dows, Iowa, to John C. and Minnie (Holland) Glade. Ione was confirmed at Otis Grove Lutheran Church in Dows and graduated from Dows High School. She was united in marriage to Lyle W. Erickson on December 8, 1934. Ione and Lyle farmed in Dows, Belmond and Thornton. Together they built a gas station in Hampton, enjoyed traveling and delivering motor homes. Ione and Lyle retired to Clear Lake, Iowa, in 1970. Ione is survived by her son Donald Erickson of Forest City; grandchildren Melisa (Chris) Sunde of Omaha, Nebraska and Chad (Jenifer) Erickson of Huxley; great grandchildren Carter Sunde, Blake Sunde, Codey Erickson and Emma Erickson; siblings Wilma Dorr of Ames, Marjorie Stover of Hampton, Willard (Wanda) Glade of Dows, Dorothy Fraser of Clarion and Glennavon Parriott of Popejoy. She was preceded in death by her Husband Lyle and daughter Patricia.
