Jacob Sailer

Jacob L. Sailer, 89, of Hampton, Iowa passed away Saturday, December 24, 2016, at his home in Hampton, Iowa. He was born November 29, 1927, on the family farm in rural Geneva, Iowa, to John Jacob and Anna (Abbas) Sailer. Jacob attended North Star Country School and Geneva Schools. He was united in marriage to Mary Ann (Jensen) Sailer on July 12, 1949, in South Dakota. Jacob worked as a farmer all of his life. He was an active member of the St. Peter's United Church of Christ in Geneva, Iowa. He enjoyed traveling with friends and family, camping, playing cards, visiting with people, watching and feeding the birds, and took great pride in being a blood donor. Jacob is survived by his daughter-in-law Rachel Sailer of Roanoke, Virginia, son Larry (Janice) Sailer of Iowa Falls, son Ron (Sandy) Sailer of Geneva, daughter Nancy (Greg) Tue of Clear Lake, daughter Janet Siems of Norwalk, daughter Cathy Acri of Norwalk, daughter Mary Sailer of Story City, twenty three grandchildren, thirty two great-grandchildren, and numerous great great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Mary Ann, one brother, three sisters, son John and granddaughter Kim.
