Joselene Ruth Smith

Joselene Ruth Smith, 89, of Janesville, Iowa passed away Wednesday at the Windsor Nursing & Rehab Center in Cedar Falls, Iowa. She was born July 13, 1922, in Clarksville, Iowa, to Edward J. & Jennie (Lursen) Heyenga. Joselene attended Allison Schools. She was united in marriage to Russell J. Smith on August 18, 1940, in Parkersburg, Iowa. Joselene was housewife and a mother. She was a Charter member of the Trinity Reformed Church in Allison. Joselene enjoyed working in her yard, gardening, and canning food. Joselene especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and family. She is survived by her son Richard (Deborah) Smith of Cedar Falls, son Charles (Kathy) Smith of Allison, son Ronald (Ardan) Smith of Loveland, Colorado, son James (Linda) Smith of Janesville, son Joel (Peggy) Smith of Janesville, son Carl (Connie) Smith of Cedar Falls, daughter Patricia (Ron) Bock of Dunkerton, brother Karl Heyenga of Allison, sister Harriet Freesemann of Allison, twenty five grandchildren and forty one great grandchildren. Joselene was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two brothers, five sisters and two children in infancy. Burial will take place at the Allison Cemetery in Allison, Iowa. Memorial may be made to the Trinity Reformed Church in Allison, Iowa
