Joyce Elaine Shepherd, 64, of Hampton, Iowa, passed away May 2, 2013, at her home in Hampton. She was born on November 26, 1948, in Hampton, Iowa, to Verner and Lavone (Liekweg) Jensen. Joyce graduated from Hampton High School. She was united in marriage to William Shepherd on December 31, 1998, in Hampton. Joyce worked as a cook for the Hampton School District. She was affiliated with the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Hampton. Joyce enjoyed collecting hummingbirds, reading, computer games, crossword puzzles, and watching hummingbirds, squirrels and other birds in her backyard. She is survived by her husband William of Hampton, daughter JaNeen Smith of Nevada, son Steven Early of Tekamah, Nebraska, grandson Chase Weinandy of Hampton, granddaughter Ciera Weinandy of Zearing, great-grandchildren Joseph, Eliah, Tyus and Gracee and brother Kenneth Jensen of Cameron, Missouri. She was preceded in death by her parents Verner and Lavone and brothers Steven and Gerald Jensen. Burial at a later date
