LaVeta Mae Liekweg, 91, of Hampton, Iowa, passed away November 18, 2010, at the Leahy Grove Independent and Assisted Living in Hampton, Iowa. She was born April 11, 1919, at her parents farm house in Franklin County, Iowa, to Aaron William and Lydia Cloe (Bray) Rademacher. LaVeta attended country schools and graduated from the Hansell High School in 1936. She married DeLos Merlyn Liekweg on March 10, 1938, in Hampton, Iowa. LaVeta was a homemaker. She was a member of the Hampton United Methodist Church, was a Rebekah Lodge member for fifty years, Lydia Circle for two years and was in Mothers Club of Hampton from 1953 until it closed. LaVeta is survived by her daughter Karen (Merle) Kaplan of Ankeny, daughter Connie (Michael) Sorensen of Hampton, grandchildren Dr. Kent DeLos (Kim) Kaplan of Ankeny, Tora (Dr. David) Cobb of Olathe, Kansas, Lisa (Traviss) Stodghill of New Sharon, Michelle (Scott) Anderson of Independence, Kentucky, Chad (Kate) Sorensen of Ankeny and eleven great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents Aaron and Lydia, husband DeLos and her brother Earl. Burial will take place in the Hampton Cemetery.
