Lillian Virginia (Mellott) Schutt

Lillian Virginia (Mellott) Schutt, 86, of Hampton, Iowa, passed away August 27, 2011, at the Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit in Mason City, Iowa. She was born August 22, 1925, in Hampton, Iowa, to George and Edna (Mock) Mellott. Lillian graduated from the Hampton High School. She married Martin Schutt in 1955, and raised four children together. Lillian was a waitress, cooked for the school and was a baker. She was a member of the Hampton Church of Christ. Lillian enjoyed her family, friends, and her Church family, she also enjoyed watching her children's sporting activities and watching sports on television. Lillian was also a Little League Baseball coach, which she enjoyed very much. She is survived by her daughter Edna Gray Rigby & husband Gerald McGuire of Spencer, son Jerry M. & wife Janet Schutt of West Des Moines, son Paul Schutt of Hampton, daughter Mary & husband Bobby Gregory of Hampton, grandchildren; Tandi (Robert) Nedved, Marty (Dee Dee) Whitcraft, Katie (Scott) Manning, Amy (Justin) Ites, Jessica (Bryan) Lawson, Melissa Schutt, Jon Kleen and fourteen great grandchildren. Lillian was preceded in death by her parents and a grandson Benjamin Rigby. Burial will be at a later date. Memorials may be directed to Hospice of North Iowa.
