    Lois Irene Hovey

    April 8, 1921 - September 18, 2010

    Lois Irene Hovey, 89, of Hampton, Iowa, passed away September 18, 2010, at the Franklin General Hospital in Hampton, Iowa. She was born April 8, 1921, in Iowa Falls, Iowa, to Emery and Elsie (Brightwell) Chaplin. Lois graduated from the Iowa Falls High School in 1938 and received her B.A. degree from Iowa State Teachers College. She married Donald Robinson on September 1, 1945, he passed away in 1953, she then married Robert Hovey on December 28, 1958. Lois was a member of the Hampton United Methodist Church, she was in the History & Heritage Club and was a former member of the Franklin County Historical Society. She also was involved in the Heifer Project International and was Secretary & Treasurer of the REA Power Plant Museum. Lois is survived by her son Allen Hovey and wife Marjorie Lynn of Albuquerque, New Mexico, daughter Donna Andreessen of Waverly, daughter Eileen and husband Herman Merten of Charles City, son Wayne and wife Ann Robinson of Iowa City, daughter Margaret and husband Robert Koppen of Lansing, Kansas, brother Merle Chaplin of Iowa Falls, nine grandchildren, three step-grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands Donald Robinson and Robert Hovey and a infant grandson. Burial will take place at the Hillside Cemetery in Sheffield, Iowa.
