Lois Irene Weiland

Lois Irene Weiland, 88, of Hampton, Iowa, passed away Thursday, April 18, 2013, at the Rehabilitation Center of Hampton in Hampton, Iowa. She was born on January 7, 1925, in Estherville, Iowa, to Raymond Virgil and Doris (Kesler) Thackery. Lois was united in marriage to George G. Weiland on December 19, 1948. She was a home maker, a waitress and worked at various places including United Hydraulics, Seabee Corporation and Montgomery Ward. Lois enjoyed camping and making crafts. She especially enjoyed handing out the angels that she made to everyone. Lois is survived by her son Michael and wife Robyn Sims of Penryn, California, daughter Sharon and husband Tony Bunda of Pocahontas, son Gaylen "Moose" and wife Madonna Weiland of Hampton, daughter Diane Weiland and friend Jenny Lentzkow of Waterloo, grandchildren Daniel Bunda, Samuel Bunda, Casey and husband John Hurst, George Weiland, Michael Thackery, Jeff Thackery and Tracy Thackery, four great-grandchildren, sisters Arlene, Melba, Shirley and Janet, along with numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents Raymond and Doris, husband George, two brothers and one sister. Burial will take place at a later date.
