Funeral Services for 93 year old Marie Davis of Aredale, Iowa will be held Saturday February 6, 2010, at 11:00 A.M. at the Aredale United Methodist Church in Aredale, Iowa. Burial will be in the Dumont Cemetery in Dumont, Iowa. Friends may call on Saturday from 10:00 A.M. until service time at theAredale United Methodist Church in Aredale, Iowa. Marie Davis passed away February 1, 2010 at the Rehabilitation Center of Hampton in Hampton, Iowa. Sietsema Vogel Funeral Home in Dumont is in charge of arrangements.Rev. Doug Tharpe will be officiating. Marie Davis, 93, of Aredale, Iowa, passed away February 1, 2010, at the Rehabilitation Center of Hampton in Hampton, Iowa. She was born December 2, 1916, on a farm outside of Aredale, Iowa, to Neils and Minnie (Ubben) Nelsen. Marie graduated from Hansell High School and was Valedictorian of her class. She was united in marriage to Denton Davis on February 17, 1938, in Hampton, Iowa. Marie was a homemaker and also took care of her mother and helped raise her siblings. She was a member of the Aredale Homemakers Club and the Aredale Methodist Church. Marie enjoyed antiquing, making crazy quilts for her family and working in her flower & vegetable gardens. She is survived by her daughter-in-law Bev Davis of New Hartford, brother Neil and wife Irene Nelsen of Mason City, sister-in-law Clarice Nelsen of Waterloo, granddaughter Diane and husband Doug DeBuhr of New Hartford, grandson Mike Davis of Davenport, three great grandsons Denton DeBuhr and Jenna Dempze of Purcell, Oklahoma, Drew DeBuhr and Dylan DeBuhr, both of New Hartford and numerous nieces and nephews. Marie was preceded in death by her parents, husband Denton, son Keith, brother Cecil Nelsen, and sister Dorothy Becker.
