    Marjorie Mae (Arjes) Harms

    May 5, 1935 - February 17, 2011

    Marjorie Mae (Arjes) Harms, 75, of Allison, Iowa, passed away February 17, 2011, at the Waverly Health Center in Waverly, Iowa, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on May 5, 1935, in Butler County, Iowa, to Harm and Kate (Henrichs) Arjes. Marjorie graduated from the Allison High School. She was united in marriage to Delbert Dean Harms on April 6, 1956, at the St. James Lutheran Church in Allison. Marjorie enjoyed her grandchildren and great grandchildren and taught several grandchildren how to drive. She also enjoyed her nieces and nephews. Marjorie had a special love for horses and in her later years she and Delbert enjoyed their team of Belgian horses. She loved Sunday drives with family, picnics and camping. Marjorie also enjoyed collecting recipes and looking through cookbooks, the grandchildren especially loved her breakfasts. She is survived by her loving husband of fifty-four years, Delbert Harms of Allison; one daughter Susan (Mark) Schrage of Bristow; three sons Steven (Brenda) Harms of Aplington, Stanley Harms of Parker, Colorado, and Jeffrey (Julie) Harms of Allison; ten grandchildren Sarah Gersema, Justin Schrage, Ashley Buck, Nicole Shook, Kyle Harms, Lucas Harms, Hunter and Dylan Coleman-Harms, James and Haley Harms; two step grandchildren Meghin and Evan McDaniels; four great grandchildren Mya and McKenna Gersema, Gavin Schrage and Andi Shook; a couple of great grandbabies on the way; and one brother Kermit Arjes of Parkersburg. Marjorie was preceded in death by her parents Harm and Kate Arjes; four sisters Anna Dralle, Rena Arjes, Florence Boomgarden and Lavon Wiebke and three brothers John Arjes, Harm Arjes and Harlan Arjes. Burial will take place in the Allison Cemetery.
