    August 13, 1920 - April 24, 2011

Mildred Dillon, 90, of Hampton, Iowa, passed away April 24, 2011, at her home in Hampton, Iowa with her husband by her side. She was born August 13, 1920, in Manly, Iowa, to Cecil Paige and Agnes (Hannah) Wilson. Mildred graduated from Kensett High School and also from St. Joseph's Mercy School of Nursing in Sioux City, Iowa. She was united in marriage to Daryl (Barney) Dillon on September 27, 1952, in Mason City, Iowa. Mildred was a member of the St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Hampton. She was a registered nurse at the Franklin General Hospital, and honored as the first Favorite Working Woman in Hampton, Iowa. She loved being with her siblings, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Each holiday was marked by her homemade cinnamon rolls and kalache rings. She spent many happy summers with her husband at their trailer home in Guttenburg, Iowa along the Mississippi River. She was an avid Iowa Hawkeye football and Chicago Cubs fan. She was a kind, caring person to everyone she met, and will be deeply missed. Mildred is survived by her husband Daryl (Barney) Dillon of Hampton, son Tim (Kathy) Dillon of Elkader, daughter Debbie (John) McDonald of East Hampton, Connecticut, son Pat (Dollie) Dillon of Hampton, sister Dorothy Muldoon, sister Joan Reindl, brother Robert (Shirley) Wilson, sister Barbara Gasaway, nine grandchildren and six great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents Agnes and Cecil Wilson. There will be a Scriptural wake service at 7:00 P.M., Tuesday following the visitation. Burial will be in the Hampton Cemetery.
