Sheryl Overton Sokolik, 80, of Hampton, Iowa, passed away July 1, 2012, at the Rehabilitation Center of Hampton, in Hampton, Iowa. He was born May 31, 1932, in Fort Dodge, Iowa, to James & Virginia Ann (Ellmore) Sokolik. Sheryl attended schools in Ackley and Aplington, Iowa. He was united in marriage to Donna Cuvelier on September 30, 1967, in Bristow, Iowa. Sheryl worked as a signal maintainer for Illinois Central Rail Road Company. He was a member of the Faith Baptist Church in Hampton, Iowa. Sheryl enjoyed woodworking, reading, puzzles, crossword puzzles and enjoyed gathering with family and friends. He is survived by his wife Donna of Hampton, sister Joyce & Richard Renberg of Warrenton, Virginia, sister in law Grace Sokolik of Ocean Springs, Mississippi, nephew James & Cheryl Oberhaus Sokolik of Columbus, Ohio, nephew Martin & Katie Sokolik of Houston, Texas, niece Elizabeth & Robert Rood of Rosewell, Georgia, nephew David & Julie Renberg of Warrenton, Virginia. Sheryl was preceded in death by his parents and one brother Hardy. Burial in the Hampton Cemetery in Hampton, Iowa
