    Silas Louis Johansen

    February 18, 1921 - November 17, 2010

    Silas Louis Johansen, 89, of Hampton, Iowa, passed away November 17, 2010, at the Rehabilitation Center of Hampton. He was born February 18, 1921, in Latimer, Iowa, to Jens and Dorthea (Hansen) Johansen. Silas attended Latimer Schools. He was united in marriage to Pauline Mollenbeck on May 6, 1944, in Coulter, Iowa. Silas was a farmer. He was a member of the Nazareth Lutheran Church in Coulter, Iowa. Silas was a big sports fan of his three grandsons, he loved working on the farm, having coffee with his friends and loved watching the Iowa Hawkeyes and the St. Louis Cardinals. He is survived by his son Gary Johansen and wife Kirby Quintero of Colorado Springs, Colorado, step granddaughter Marissa Quintero, son Randy Johansen and wife Diann of Sheffield, grandsons Landen Johansen of Hampton, Tanner and Slater Johansen of Sheffield, step granddaughter Robin (Sam) Solarz of Belle Plaine, Minnesota, step grandson Todd Oehlert of Denver, Colorado, brother Ralph Johansen of Latimer and numerous nieces and nephews. Silas was preceded in death by his parents, wife Pauline, sisters Luvena Koenigsberg, Leona Johansen, Verna Hansen and a brother Milton Johansen. Burial will take place in the Coulter Cemetery.
