Valeta "Lucy" E. Arends

Valeta "Lucy" E. Arends, 70, of Mason City, Iowa, passed away June 26, 2010, at her home in Mason City, Iowa. She was born March 24, 1940, in Waukon, Iowa, to Robert and Ruth (Schaefer) Eaton. Lucy graduated from the Rudd-Rockford-Marble Rock High School. She was united in marriage to Donald Arends on January 26, 1960, in Mason City, Iowa. Lucy was a machinist for IMI Cornelius in Mason City and then worked at Kraft in Mason City. She enjoyed bowling at Mystic Lanes in Mason City, doing crossword puzzles, saduko, word puzzles and jig-saw puzzles and baking. Lucy loved to work and loved her children and great grandchildren. She is survived by daughter Donetta & husband Jerry Beenken of Dakota City, son Bryan & wife Laurene Arends of Hampton, son Don (LeRoy) & wife Tina Arends of Newton, daughter Jeanetta & husband Shawn McRoberts of Mason City, son Rick & wife Tammy Arends of Hampton, son Lynn & wife JoEllen Arends of Hampton, son Matt & wife Terri Arends of Mason City, brother Paul Eaton, sister Vivian Brookman and her special cousin Jerrylyn Brinkman, many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Lucy was preceded in death by her parents, husband Donald, sister Cheryl, and her brother Robert.
